Overall, our weekend in Vegas started out very well. We were able to get our first #1 qualifier of the year. That shows our Quaker State team has been working hard toward improving not just our performance but our consistency as well. We also made it past the first round of eliminations.
In the second round I did something that is very rare and I’ve only done it a couple of times in my career. I crossed the center line and was disqualified. As many runs that I’ve taken down the track, just when you think you control every aspect of what these cars do occasionally, it will do something to remind you that you need to constantly be physically driving these cars — even in that short amount of time in the four seconds down the race track.
